Day 2--We arrived in Crete

We sat on the tarmac yesterday in Philly for just under 2 hours.  But we arrived in Athens only an hour late, so all was well.  So  far, the Greeks are kind and forgiving to us.

We got to our little hotel in Heraklion this afternoon about 2:30 or 3:00--it's just like a tiny house, except there are stores downstairs and 4 floors upstairs.  We are on the 3rd, but really the 5th, I think--ground floor, breakfast room floor (like a mezzanine), then 3rd floor with room numbers 1xx, 4th floor with room numbers 2xx, then ours.  We have everything we need, tiny or not.

We have a balcony with a clothes dryer (not the electric kind)--mom, we bought the clothespins at the Euro store.

and can see the Agean Sea if you look over all the rooftops.

We walked around a bit, came back to our room, took showers and felt great again.  So we wandered around again, and went to the happening place in town, Lion Square.  The longer we stayed the more people came.  Who knew we were going to be hangin' with the cool kids!

ate nearby, and its now 8:45 their time.  we're going to bed.

not a great thing to be teaching,
